The Wohl Legacy

The Foundations support charitable activities in the UK, Israel, Central and Eastern Europe. Although they have distinct policy objectives, they both provide vital infrastructure for Jewish communities, their grant-making being focussed particularly on the improvement of quality of life by the provision of health, welfare and educational services and facilities, as well as the advancement of the medical sciences.

World Jewish Relief

As a UK based international Jewish charity, WJR is committed to meeting the needs of individuals and communities living in poverty, assisting them in the transformation of their lives and livelihoods. Most of its work takes place across the former Soviet Union. Working through local partners, WJR provide humanitarian relief and medical care to low-income families.WJR also recognises the importance of supporting long term sustainable programmes that enable clients to break the cycle of poverty and ultimately help themselves.

American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

“Save a life, save a whole world” – for almost 100 years this motto inspires JDC to help people in need, irrespective of nationality, calling other charitable organizations to action. Nowadays JDC is represented in over 70 countries worldwide. The organization provide immediate relief to people in danger, launch social welfare programmes, addressing low-income families, and initiate renewal and development programmes, aiming at building independent viable communities.
